Safe for Her!

HER Internet has responded to high levels of cyber-crime, increased surveillance by state and non-state actors, and online violence directed at communities of structurally silenced womxn and movements.

OUR PRIORITY AREAS AND OBJECTIVES

Our programs focus on creating and providing safe spaces, rights-based training and advocacy through digital and in-person space-holding. Our ways of working reflect a solid commitment to building connectively across digital feminist movements.

WHAT WE DO
01.

Knowledge and skills to increase womxn’s agency online, enhance their ability to navigate the internet safely and maximumly utilize Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs)

02.

Research and documentation on access and utilisation of the internet by womxn, to identify and/or describe the state of internet freedoms of structurally silenced womxn in Uganda.

03.

Contribution towards creating a feminist internet to advocate for a safer online environment enabling more womxn to engage.

04.

Capacity strengthening of HER Internet’s institutional framework to effectively engage on digital rights and internet freedoms of womxn at all levels; nationally, regionally and globally.

OUR CORE VALUES

WHY US

It's a pleasure to meet people that are way ahead of our time since in Uganda, most of these (digital safety) concepts are very fresh and new. But thank you, HER Internet, for having us on board. (D.R.A Multi-stakeholders' Engagement, 24 November 2022).
Fred,
